How to get to the speedboat piers in Laem Sok & Koh Kood

A speedboat burns a lot more fuel per kilometre than a car, bus or minibus, so we land and depart from places that keep the sea trip as short and economical as possible. If getting to those piers sometimes takes a little longer than you expected, please remember it is done to lower our impact on the local and global environment.

By car from Bangkok

Driving down from Bangkok is easy with these Google Maps directions to Laem Sok from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Secure parking is available at the pier for 50 baht per night.

Free shuttle service from Trat

So you won't pay extra to get from Trat city to the pier, a free "Song Teaw" shuttle to Laem Sok / Siriwhite speedboats leaves at 07:00 and 11:30 from the parking next to the police post opposite the Krung Thai Bank in the centre of Trat, and picks up at any hotel, guesthouse or resort in Trat city or on the route between the city centre and Laem Sok.

Airport pick ups

Trat Airport. Pick ups from Trat Airport are not free, as the airport is not near Trat itself but closer to the Koh Chang ferries. We offer three kinds of pick up:

  • For larger families or people who enjoy the warm air: by Song Teaw (half open pick-up truck), 900 baht per way per car.
  • For couples or singles who travel light: by Toyota Vios, 1100 baht per way per car.
  • For couples with one or two small children or a lot of luggage: by Toyota Altis limousine, 1300 baht per way per car.
  • By private minibus: please visit the Trat Airport private minibus website.

Suvarnabhumi Airport. Pick ups from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport are currently 4300 baht by Toyota Camry limousine or 5000 baht by minibus and can be arranged through another member of the Siam Resorts Group: Bangkok Limousines. To reach the island the same day, your flight has to land in Bangkok before 07:00. If you arrive later, we can still take you to the Siriwhite speedboat lounge, where you can spend the night in one of our modest rooms and enjoy a peace and quiet you won't easily find anywhere else (that is, until our people start putting the boats in the water in the morning).

From Koh Kood to Laem Sok

Koh Kood does have a main pier, but it is hard to reach from most of the island, and nearly every resort worth mentioning has its own pier. So we collect our passengers right from their resort's pier. Just make sure you have a confirmed booking, and after breakfast you can enjoy a last view of Koh Kood's crystal clear sea until you see our speedboat arrive.

Safe and secure

All Siriwhite and Laem Sok Group skippers go through a strict selection and screening process and regular health and boat-handling checks by certified professionals. Every speedboat carries enough life vests, and we encourage passengers to wear them for the whole trip. Please don't distract the skipper during the transfer: if you want to know the name of an island, ask one of the mates, point and ask "Koh Mak?" or "Koh Chang?". Besides "tickets please" and the names of the resorts they speak little English, only Thai and some Khmer.
